Subject overview

Hampstead School provides courses in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from Year 7 to Year 13. The school possesses seven ICT suites and additional facilities to encourage student use of ICT.

 

Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 Key Stage 5

 

Students in years 7, 8 and 9 have one hour of ICT a week in which they follow the key stage 3 ICT strategy.

They learn how to use DTP, Spreadsheets, Databases, web page authoring and control software.

 

 

 

 

In year 10 they do the Short ICT GCSE or they can choose to follow the DIDA course (Diploma in Digital Applications).

 

In the Sixth Form Hampstead School currently provides the EDEXCEL AS/A2 Applied GCE in ICT.

In year 12 students complete 3 units, one is an exam that is externally assessed.

In year 13 students complete another 3 units and gain the A2 qualification.
