HOW TO CHOOSE

There are many pathways to success and it is important for you to select the courses you will enjoy studying and achieve qualifications as a result.   It is important when selecting courses to consider the following:

  1. photoYour present levels of attainment – consider your past grades, your current grades and your predicted grades.
  2. The kind of learning style you enjoy – consider whether you prefer active learning or a more theoretical style.
  3. Your future plans – try and think about what you want to do after you leave school and check out the necessary subject requirements.

If you attend Year 11 at Hampstead, you will have the following support in making choices that are right for you: an introductory tutorial programme that introduces you to all the choices open to you at schools and colleges in the local area; a personal  interview  with our careers’ officer ; a ‘Progression Day’ in January with sixth formers and university students and, finally, an opportunity to discuss your subject choices with a member of the sixth form leadership team.  Our Connexions Advisor is also available for further consultation and support if necessary.
