History
The social sciences department consists of 6 members of staff, who all teach history as well as one of the following, government and politics, sociology and critical thinking.
All students at key stage 3 will be given a homework booklet that they will complete in their own time. Each booklet will have a range of activities for students to choose from. They will also include a national curriculum assessment which it is compulsory for all students to complete in and will contribute to the mark that will be added to their end of term reports.

The summer term in key stage 3 will see year 7 studying the Renaissance and the Reformation, year 8 the development of the British Empire and Slavery, and year 9 the Holocaust and the world post world war two. | Year 10 will be completing coursework on the 1960’s or studying The Vietnam War for their skills based paper for the final exam. Students will still be expected to complete coursework drafts and exam practice questions for homework whilst studying these courses. Year 11 need to be attending Revision Classes after school on Mondays | History: Students will be preparing for their exams that will be taken in June. After the summer exams A2 courses will begin to be taught. Students should begin to think about their topics for the Individual Assignment. |
