Industry Links and Careers

Head of Department works with tutors, head of departments and teachers to deliver a programme that supports the student's progression.

At key stages students are given extra support for example when they are choosing GCSE options, year 12 courses or moving on to University, Employment or training.

The department organises work experience for students in year 11, 12 and 13 and work placements principally for BTEC students in year 12.

Students take part in a programme of activities delivered through Self and Society lessons.

Year 9 take part in a Progression Day designed to support their option choices.

Students continue the programme of activities through Self and Society.

'Year 10 students complete work experience during April and year 11 students take part in a Progression day to support their decisions post-16.'

Students are supported in their application to college, sixth form or employment and they will also produce a Progress File that summarises their achievements so far.

Students are timetabled for a lesson each week in year 12 to support their application to University.

Year 12 BTEC First students attend work experience during February and Year 13 "A" level students go in September.
