Hampstead School Newsletter

As we head into the break, we wish all our students a restful and restorative holiday. This is a valuable opportunity to reflect on everything they've learnt and achieved so far this year. We’re incredibly proud of how hard everyone is working, and we look forward to welcoming all students back on Monday 2 June as we embark on the final push towards the end of another successful school year.

In the meantime, we’re delighted to share a range of upcoming events and opportunities for our school community. Whether you’re interested in healthy living, exploring a future in medicine, creative arts, or simply enjoying local culture, there’s something for everyone. Please see below for details on how you and your family can get involved.

Netherwood Youth Hub Centre Activities - Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th May

This is Camden Integrated Youth Support Services' half-term programme, with gardening, football, badminton, and baking activities. Click here for more information and here to register.

Families, Food and Feelings Workshop - Tuesday 3rd June, 10.00 to 12.00

A free online workshop for those registered to a Camden or Islington GP to discuss strategies to encourage healthy eating. They will discuss tips to create helpful food boundaries, find ways to promote positive relationships with food, and learn about emotional eating.  Click here to register.

UCL BECOME - Wednesday 11th June, 9:00 to 17:00

This is a free one-day event for Year 9 and 10 pupils of Black heritage who are interested in studying medicine. During the day, participants will experience engaging hands-on workshops, get to meet inspiring medical professionals and have a chance to explore UCL’s renowned Bloomsbury campus. Click here for more information or to apply.

Mindful Movers - from Monday 16th June

Mindful Movers is for Camden and Islington young people aged 16-24. It is a six-week, group-based therapeutic yoga programme, led by a qualified Yoga Teacher and supervised by a Clinical Psychologist. Its aim is to help young people who are currently underactive improve their physical and mental wellbeing. Click here for more information or to apply.

International Arts Festival 2025 - Thursday 19th June, 17:00 to 19:30 

We would like to invite all to our annual celebration of Hampstead School's  cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity. The event is even more special this year as we celebrate receiving the School of Sanctuary Award. We will be selling food and artefacts to raise money for students in need at Hampstead School, as well as hosting performance music and a poetry recital. This is a cashless event.

Shakespeare in the Squares: The Taming of the Shrew - Thursday 10th July, 19:00

Friends of Fortune Green are delighted to announce that Shakespeare in the Squares are bringing their eighth summer production to Fortune Green in July with a quirky take on The Taming of the Shrew.

Bring a picnic and enjoy one of the Bard's most outrageous comedies, a battle of wits, wills and romance featuring pop classics from the '50s and '60s. Click here for more information or to book tickets.

Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts Summer School - 23rd to 25th July

Get Set 2025 provides a flavour of what it’s like to study at LIPA for those thinking about studying a performing arts degree for 2026 entry. This summer school is aimed at Year 12 learners who are currently under-represented in higher education, for eligibility information see their website. The deadline for applications is 25th May. Click here for more information or to apply.

Fashion Retail Academy Summer School - 29th July to 7th August

This is an opportunity for students aged 14-17 with an interest in following a pathway towards fashion. The programme focusses on sustainability, up-cycling, graphic design and marketing. There will be the opportunity to visit a fashion brand during the week as well as learning about working in a fashion environment and the fashion industry. Click here for more information or to apply.

Exam notices

For morning exams, please encourage students to come in from 8am to access additional subject support and a free breakfast.

For afternoon exams, if they finish after 2.15pm students will be dismissed to go straight home.

Graduation

Graduation will take place on Friday 20th of June, details have been emailed directly. The start time has been amended to 2.30pm. Doors open at 2.15pm.

Year 13 Graduation – Tuesday, 24th June – 16:30 until 19:00

Parents/Carers of Year 13 students are invited to join us to celebrate the successes of our Y13s at our annual Graduation ceremony. There will be light refreshments from 16:30 and the Graduation Ceremony will start at 17:45.
