Hampstead School Newsletter

At Hampstead School, we believe that every student enriches our community and brings something truly unique to our school. Our families and governors also play an integral role in making our school a vibrant place. This term, it has been wonderful to see our new Year 7 students settling in and finding their confidence, as well as our Year 12 students becoming fully integrated members of our school community.

This week, we were honoured to welcome the School of Sanctuary project, which works with young people seeking sanctuary in the UK. The project aims to raise awareness of the experiences of those seeking safety and plays a vital role in promoting kindness, compassion, and understanding. Additionally, we are collaborating with the University of Sussex to explore new ways of fostering a sense of belonging at Hampstead School. These initiatives provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate the inclusive nature of our school as well as finding further ways strengthen a sense of belonging in our community.

We are also focusing on incorporating gratitude into our daily practices. Each morning, students take part in a gratitude reflection, written by students themselves. This allows them to pause and reflect on the things they are grateful for.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to our families for your ongoing support throughout this term. We wish everyone a restful and well-deserved half-term break.

- Alex Fry, Assistant Head (Inclusion and SEND)

MyEd Error

We have been contacted by several Parents/Carers who are unable to connect students to their MyEd account. Over the past several weeks we have been attempting to resolve the problem with MyEd customer support, but so far have not been successful. As we attempt to resolve this issue, we are also investigating transitioning to a more reliable programme. We will keep you updated and apologise for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.

Free School Meals

A reminder to please apply for Free School Meals if you meet the eligibility requirements, even if your child does not want a school lunch. This comes with additional funding benefits for the school. Please visit the Camden Free School Meals website to apply or see if you are eligible.

Over the next two weeks, Maths teachers will be letting students know who has met the criteria to attend the celebratory pizza parties and who will be receiving prizes, including badges, maths sets, Amazon vouchers, and calculators.
