I am writing this introduction having just spent an hour visiting every classroom in school. Although it was Period 5 on a very hot Friday, everybody was living up to our ‘Work Hard’ ethos. In quiet, focused classrooms, I saw beautiful photographs, fantastic drama, problem-solving product design and thoughtful scientific investigation.
Some students were not in lessons though – this was because we have fifty Year 9s in Epping Forest completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award. They will be on their way home as you are reading this.
Looking forward to next week, this enriching curriculum continues. Year 7 are going to be treated to a performance of Frankenstein by the Donmar Warehouse on Monday. All students and families are invited to our International Arts Festival on Thursday. Year 11 have their celebration event on Friday afternoon.
Over the next few weeks there will be lots of opportunities for students – please encourage your child to seize their summer.
