Financial Services Career Accelerator

Know Our Impact (KOI) Youth Board is recruiting!

Join the largest youth glee club competition in the UK!

Topic: Performing arts

About: Do you and your friends like performing on stage? Requirements: Groups must be based in London or Essex, Your group must have a minimum of 10 members, all members aged 11-25. What you will receive: A chance to win a share of £5,000 prize fund, tutoring by West End professional performers at one of the Glee Club Boot Camps.  Young Professionals – Insight into Lloyds Banking Group

About: Lloyds Banking Group is one of the world’s biggest financial services companies with over 30 million digital customers. Find out how they help Britain prosper, what makes their culture inclusive, and how their well-known brands are driving real change. At this event, you will participate in workshops, network with their people, and hear about all of the key application deadlines for this year’s opportunities. You’ll hear straight from senior leaders about their journey, as well as recent apprentices and graduates and the advice they wish they’d had when starting out.

In addition, all who attend this virtual event will be the first to hear about and apply for over eight in-person events at their offices all across the UK. These events take place on Saturdays, so they don’t impact time out of school or university. In-person opportunities are very rare, especially at huge banks, so this will be your head start to getting your foot in the door!

Norton Rose Fulbright - RISE two-year legal work experience

Topic: Commercial Law

Deadline: September 21st at 23:59pm

Years: Year 12

About: This course is designed to upskill aspiring legal professionals to be successful in applications for graduate schemes. You will:

  • Be enrolled onto a two-year development programme with the firm.
  • Complete work shadowing with both our fee earning and business services teams.
  • Get to know our clients with an insight day at their offices.
  • Participate in a mock assessment centre.
  • Receive specialist training from in house teams including early careers, learning & development and bids.
  • Join our mentoring programme to develop your commercial acumen with our trainees and clients.
  • Join us for your graduation day in our London office

You will be paid £500 total split across two instalments across the two years, and all students will be gifted a laptop at the start of the programme. During 2025, you will join us for a week of activity during your Year 12 October half term (w/c 28 October). In your second year (2026), you will complete your virtual mentoring from September – January in Year 13, participating in four one-hour sessions. Once you have completed your final year of study, you will join us for two days in July.

Get into Business & Accounting Virtual Event

Topic: Business and Accounting

About:  It’s the biggest Business and Accounting event of the year, for which you’ve all been waiting! PwC, KPMG, UBS, Forvis Mazars, BDO, RSM, CIMA, Grant Thornton & S&W are all joining us for a one-off special event taking place on Tuesday, 23rd September, 5pm -7pm online via Zoom. During this fast-paced online insight event, you will hear from all these prestigious firms, take part in workshops via breakout rooms, which you can self-opt to join, hear from some inspiring speakers, and connect and build up your professional network.

You will have the opportunity to join breakout room sessions where you can participate in mini workshops, gain a more tailored understanding of specific firms, and hear about how you could kick-start your careers within these companies. Think about work experience for the summer, internships, graduate opportunities and of course, their hugely popular degree apprenticeship programs for you to apply for!

Fitch Group - Young Leaders Path Programme

About: A five-day technical and professional skills workshop to prepare young people for the future of work delivered by Fitch’s expert trainers, from the 27th of October to the 31st of October 2025, 9am – 5pm. We encourage you to apply early, as space is limited. The program helps participants learn about different career options and pathways covering four key areas:

  1. Future Work Readiness (explore your interests and career goals, and learn the common employability skills for the future of work)

CareerDays.co.uk – Online Career Day

Topic: Various careers

Dates: Saturday 04th October – Saturday 13th December

Years: Years 9–13, aged 13–18 About: CareerDays.co.uk runs live, 1-day online Career Days across a wide range of subjects (Medicine, Law, Veterinary, Engineering, Psychology, Business, Architecture, Computer Science, Performing Arts, Midwifery and more). All with the aim of helping students decide what career paths they may be interested in. Sessions typically run 11:00–16:00 (UK); a few subjects vary slightly —please see the event page for details.

Mornings focus on what the career is really like and how to apply to university; afternoons provide work-experience activities plus a live Q&A, and students receive a personalised certificate afterwards. All sessions are delivered online and are recorded for on-demand viewing.

GOSH Young Visitors Programme

Topic: Medicine and Nursing

Years: Students aged 16 to 19 years (ideally sixth form students post GCSE)

About: The GOSH Young Visitors Programme is an initiative to offer short placements in the different areas of GOSH to students thinking of applying for a career in the NHS. It offers 1-5 day placements in the area of the student’s choice, dependent upon availability of places and supervising staff. The Winter Cohort runs from 16th February – 20th February 2026, with applications opening on the 10th of November 2025 at 9am, and closing at 3pm on the 21st of November 2025. Applicants will receive the notification of decision on the 5th of January 2026.

WOHAA Achievement Award

Topic: Leadership/Fundraising

Deadline: 30th November 2025

Years: Students aged 13 – 18 years old (or Years 9 – 13)

About: Students get into groups of up to six and over a few months conduct their own fundraising projects and awareness campaigns all in the name of charity and education. Each WOHAA team is assigned a mentor, who through regular check-ins and meetings, and can support and guide the students through their projects. Along the way, WOHAA participants get free access to workshops, mentoring and masterclasses, by some of the Wings of Hope’s many supporting businesses, ambassadors, and university partners. Once students submit their “Snapshots” projects to the charity, it is assessed against areas of skills including project management, community service, creativity and more.

Short-listed students get invited to present their work to a panel of leading judges at Westminster. Judges including luminaries from politics, business, entertainment, sport, the arts and education. The Finals are a celebration of the incredible work that WOHAA students have put into their projects, where an awards ceremony will announce the winners of various categories, before announcing the overall winners.

Camden Youth Council

About: Help to represent young people in Camden and make change happen by joining Camden Youth Council. Anyone aged 13 to 19 who lives in Camden or attends a school, college or youth club in Camden, or works here, is eligible to join. 

They are always eager to recruit more Youth Council members. These hardworking individuals help us mobilise the youth of Camden in democracy, informing them of the opportunities open to them and tackling key issues they face. They attend meetings with other Camden Youth Council members, the Youth MP and the Deputy Youth MPs.

Nuffield placements

About: 4 – 6 week placements over the summer holidays, usually in university research facilities. Over 1,000 placements each year, working alongside professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians. Probably the most highly regarded experience for would-be science and engineering students. Highly competitive, but no particular grades required. Must be studying STEM subjects at A Level (science, technology, engineering, maths). Preference given to students who are the first in their family to attend university, but anyone can apply

About: These subject taster sessions offer you an opportunity to experience a university lecture or seminar, to get a taste of what studying that subject at university is like.
