As we welcome students back after the Christmas holidays, we extend a warm welcome to all our families and wish you a happy, healthy and successful New Year. The beginning of a new term is a powerful moment to pause, reset and look ahead with renewed purpose, energy and optimism.
While the term may be new, our culture remains firmly rooted in our core values: Think Big, Work Hard, Be Kind. These values anchor us and shape the expectations we hold for ourselves and our entire school community.
Last year, we refreshed and simplified our Behaviour Curriculum to better support students in reflecting on their choices, recognising their strengths and identifying how they can continue to grow and succeed. Central to this is a strong commitment to learning—being in the right place, at the right time, and doing the right things, every lesson, every day. These small but consistent actions have a significant impact on attainment, progress and wellbeing, and they help us develop young people who are self-reflective, considerate and ambitious.
This half term is a short one, making it especially important that we maximise every opportunity. It represents a fresh start, a chance to build positive habits and embrace new challenges. Strong partnerships create the perfect conditions for lasting, positive change and with your continued support at home—encouraging routines, holding high expectations, having regular, positive conversations and equipping your children for learning—we can succeed in ensuring our students are fully invested in their learning.
With this in mind can you please ensure your child has:
- The correct uniform
- A phone pouch
- A pencil case with pens, pencils and a ruler (as a minimum)
- A timetable
We look forward to seeing sixth form students and their Parents/Carers for the Year 12 and 13 Progress Evening on Wednesday 28th January, and a reminder that there is a late start for students on the following day.
