The students have made a brilliant start to this half term. Our new Year 7 and Year 12 students are now established members of the school and are making valuable contributions to our community. We also want to say well done to our Year 11 students who sat their PPE exams. They showed great resilience and focus during this period, a fantastic start and something to build on ahead of the summer exams.
We have had many opportunities to come together as a community. In October, we celebrated Black History Month, with this year’s theme being “Standing Firm in Power and Pride.” As part of this, the whole school community took part in daily gratitude affirmations that began with a quote from a Black activist, pioneer, artist, or historical figure, each designed to reflect our theme. Students also engaged in daily tutor-time activities.
We also marked Remembrance Day by observing a two-minute silence outside as a whole school community. Our students showed the utmost respect throughout.
All of these events highlight our strong sense of belonging at Hampstead, something we continue to build on every day.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to all parents and carers for your continued support. We hope to see you at our upcoming events, including the school production of Guys and Dolls in December, and the Year 11 Parents Evening
