3.4 Catering

School Meals

Hampstead School provides its own in-house catering with a variety of hot and cold food on a rotating menu.

There are three opportunities for students to access food during the day, these are:

  • Breakfast Club (free to all students)
  • Break time for a snack and drink
  • Lunch time for a hot or cold meal, snack, dessert, or drink

As a cashless school, all payments are made through ParentPay.

ParentPay

3.3 ParentPay

Hampstead School uses ParentPay for all online payments for school items, this includes paying for school meals, ties, school trips, school equiptment and much more! You can also use it to see what meal types your child has been each day if they are entitled to free school meals. Access ParentPay now Accessing ParentPay …

Biometric Cashless Catering System

Hampstead School uses a biometric recognition system. The system is used nationally for cashless catering extremely successfully.

The system links to ParentPay, which is where parents are able to credit their child/children's lunch account at their convenience. The catering staff in the Dining Hall are not able to accept cash from students.

The cashless system provides a number of very significant benefits including:

  • Parents/Carers being able to monitor purchases from the Dining Hall
  • Reduction in opportunities for bullying as there is nothing that can be stolen for use by another student
  • Reduction in the need for cash handling
  • Students do not have to remember to bring a card
  • Reduction in queueing time

Breakfast Club

Eating a Healthy Breakfast makes a difference!

The Hampstead School Breakfast Club runs from 8:00 to 8:30

Grab a bagel, porridge or cereal at the breakfast service held every morning in the Dining Hall. This service is free to students and is made possible through the National School Breakfast Programme and Magic Breakfast ‘fuel for learning’.

Free School Meals

Apply online for Free School Meals

In order to access Free School Meals, you will need to apply online through Camden Council. While you will receive your result quickly, it can take the school several days to receive confirmation from Camden, so please be patient and provide your child with a packed lunch until we have heard from them.

Free School Meals are only available at lunch time, so if your child would like to purchase a snack at break time please ensure that there is money on your ParentPay account.

If your child ever has trouble accessing food, please encourage them to speak with their Head of Year.
