Hampstead School

Hampstead School is committed to providing a comprehensive careers and work related programme throughout the school.

To deliver our aims we continue to develop a curriculum that embeds careers education information advice and guidance (CEIAG) whilst enriching students' lives with opportunities that reach beyond the classroom and into the wider global community.

With an ever-expanding network of businesses across a wide range of industries and sectors, our carefully structured careers programme is thoughtfully designed to meet the individual needs of each student at every stage of their school journey. We have established strong partnerships with esteemed organisations such as The Savoy Hotel, the Civil Service Social Mobility Programme, The Talent Foundry and Speakers for Schools. Our network of partners continues to grow, providing students with meaningful opportunities and real-world insights into diverse career pathways.

Annual Hampstead School Careers Fair

In alignment with CDI principles and national careers education standards, careers fairs provide invaluable opportunities for students to explore diverse industries, professions and pathways, helping them to make well informed choices about their futures.

We host this event every year with over 40 organisations in attendance to ensure that we support our students to have meaningful one- to -one conversations with employers, universities, colleges and training providers, enabling them to explore options that align with their skills, values and aspirations.

Careers Education & Inspiration

In recognition of this the school was granted the national award of Investors in Careers in July 2015 and are committed to achieving re-accreditation under the Quality in Careers Standard. In June 2025 we have begun our journey to re-accreditation.

Quality in Careers Standard - Notice of Intention
The school is committed to achieving the Quality in Careers Standard and will be beginning this process in September 2025.

Programme Aims and Outcomes

  1. To enable all students to develop the self-knowledge and skills that they need to take charge of their personal and career development.
  2. To be an integral part of the school curriculum.
  3. To contribute to wider school action to raise aspirations, improve motivation, develop key and other employability skills and illustrate the relevance of subject studies in future life.
  4. To promote equal opportunities and to challenge stereotypical thinking and attitudes.
  5. To help students overcome any overt and hidden barriers to progress that they may encounter.
  6. To enable students to understand that a career is a personal journey that includes learning, work and career breaks (both planned and unplanned), and that all career decisions involve making choices about learning and lifestyles.
  7. To ensure that students receive appropriate independent and impartial careers information and guidance, including access to a Matrix Standard independent careers advisor, especially at key decision and transition points.

Information for Further & Higher Education Providers and Employers

As part of Hampstead School’s commitment to informing our pupils of the full range of learning and training routes on offer to them, Hampstead School is happy to consider requests from training providers, vocational education and apprenticeship providers to speak to students and will also approach these partners ourselves when planning and organising key careers events throughout the school year.

We welcome input from our providers at our main Careers events throughout the school year:

Year 11 Progression Day - Autumn Term 2025
Year 9 Progression Day - Spring Term 2025
Year 12 Progression Day - Summer Term - 2026

Annual careers fair hosting a range of further education, higher education apprenticeship providers and employers. This event is a whole school event for Year 7-Year 13.

These events provide ample opportunities to speak to students and parents both individually and in groups to offer information on academic, vocational, technical and apprenticeship routes and career pathways. These are usually held in the school hall and timings, facilities and parking and registration details will be emailed to exhibitors in good time before the event. Enquires about these events can made to school Hampstead School’s CEIAG lead at the email address below.
